11/9/2022 0 Comments Jet force gemini tribals![]() Around five-six years ago I was planning to do an RTTP topic about the game, way before Rare Replay was even a concept, but for whatever reason it never quite panned out and I've since lost the draft I had from the topic. I think I was around seven years old at the time I got it, but despite never really getting that far into the game at the time or even understanding much of it, I knew one thing for sure and it's that, damn, this game had style to spare. When I first played this game I wasn't exactly "good at games". ![]() I have a real love-hate relationship with this game. Playing this game you kind of realize why that art shift was definitely for the best.Īnyway, Jet Force Gemini. This is one of the first games I can think of that literally got the Overstrike > FUSE treatment mid-development with its art shift, rather than the protags looking like kids they updated them into becoming (mostly) older, and a little more battle-ready. Back when the game looked like some kind of spiritual Commander Keen remake. Turns out the book's promotional materials was basically all of the beta stuff. Said book was the first time I got exposed to this game, though funnily in retrospect I recall now that when my parents got the game for me at a local flea market, I instantly noticed that the presentation was markedly different from the promotional stuff I'd seen before. You know the ones they'd have like a bunch of games lined up about what's coming and what's currently the new hotness, decked out with screenshots, key art and game descriptions. I remember reading about this game way back when in one of those N64 promotional books you'd always see console manufacturers put out to advertise their consoles back in the day. ![]()
